It’s been a while since our last update. Get a sneak peek at our June episode of De-Pixelated, which will be online this Friday (6/22)!
What is E3? E3 is the biggest gaming event of the year. Basically all the big companies come together to show off the new games they are working on. It gives gamers a glimpse of what’s to come. Does everything meet our expectations when it’s finally released? Of course not. But it’s still fun to watch and get excited about the future of gaming.
E3 can be extremely daunting to follow as there will be a ton of information pouring out every day this week. I’m simply going to create a small “MUST WATCH” list of videos coming out of E3 each day. Enjoy!
Xbox SmartGlass
Putting this on my list may get me killed by hardcore gamers but I gotta say, it’s pretty freakin’ cool. This fall (apparently) you will be able to use any tablet or smart phone you already owe to navigate a web browser on your TV via the Xbox 360. It’s also going to introduce new ways to integrate supplemental interactive material for movies and games. This is really why it’s on my list. My imagination is already racing with ideas of how this can be used to enhance and dive deeper into movies and games. It sounds very exciting to me.
The Last of Us
This game has been on my most anticipated list since the debut trailer came out back in December. We now get to see the game in action and I gotta say, it looks spectacular. I love how desperate and survival oriented the gameplay looks. Oh, and if you didn’t know, it’s made by the same people that made the Uncharted series.
Watch Dogs
This is the first time I’ve ever heard of this title but it has instantly jumped onto my most wanted list. This is what I love about E3, surprises. I don’t really know how to describe this game, maybe Grand Theft Auto meets Blade Runner? Anyway, this game didn’t debut with a trailer, it debuted with some creative and imaginative gameplay as well as stunning graphics.
Beyond: Two Souls
This is another new IP that really stands out from the crowd. It’s a new game from the makers of Heavy Rain, which while flawed, was an original game that I enjoyed. I’m hoping they learned from their mistakes with Heavy Rain and bring more gameplay to their dramatic stories. The game stars the one and only Ellen Page. It’s really cool to see her likeness as an action star of a video game.
We respond to a few user questions about Max Payne 3 and give you a sneak peek at the pre-production going on for June’s De-Pixelated.
This week’s bonus feature is a storyboard comparison of De-Pixelated: Max Payne 3. If you haven’t watched it yet, check out the video first here.
It ain’t easy running a gang with Max Payne around. Tensions flare as rival gang leaders argue over what to do about the king of bullet time.
When you’re done watching the video, head over to Gametrailers for a behind-the-scenes look at real time vs. slow motion. Check it out here.

We are hard at work on the May episode of De-Pixelated, which comes out this coming Monday (May 14). Once that’s done however, its time to see the Avengers!
Blue Goggles team member, Travis Jones, takes an in-depth look at our sound team comprised of Clayton de Wet (claytoneproductions.com), Alan Koda (alankoda.com) and Brandon Brown. Check out the video for a look at how they did the production and post sound for De-Pixelated: Operation Raccoon City.

It’s been a great week and we are happy about the response to our first De-Pixelated episode. Check out our weekly update below for more.
The first episode of De-Pixelated is now online over on Gametrailers.com. The Resident Evil franchise has always been one of my favorite gaming series since the original game came out (1996). It seemed only fitting that our debut episode delved into this world that has lived inside my head for so many years. I can’t thank our cast and crew enough for bringing this world to life with us.
After watching the video, check out our behind-the-scenes video here!
